Three Suicide Bombings Hit Istanbul Ataturk Airport, 28 Killed

ISTANBUL - Turkey again hit by a bomb blast. This time the blast hit Istanbul Ataturk Airport, the largest airport in Turkey on Tuesday (28/6) evening local time. At least 28 people were killed and 60 others injured in the blast. As quoted by The Guardian, Wednesday (29/6), the cause of the explosion was three suicide bombings. According to a Turkish official, perpetrators blew himself up outside a checkpoint at the airport's international terminal of Istanbul Ataturk airport. "Twenty-eight people were killed. There were three suicide bombings. The explosion spread, "said Vasip Sahin, the Governor of Istanbul. Before perpetrators blew himself up, the terrorists prior to spit fire using an AK-47 at police and security officers. "Before blew himself up, they opened fire outside the airport. Then, they ran toward the international departure lounge, "said a police spokesman Turkey. Not yet known which countries of origin dead. During the holy month of Ramadan, Turkey has several times hit by a wave of suicide bombings. Previous suicide bombings also occurred in Istanbul.
